Hotmail/WindowsLive Problems with Email Accounts

For the past few months, Hotmail/Windows Live have been experiencing problems with their email accounts. Users have found that they've been sending mass-emails to their contacts, without even being online and/or Contacts have been deleted or changed. Hotmail/Windows Live says that these accounts have been hacked and the following should be done to fix it:

* Anti Virus Scan on your Computer/Laptop
* Anti Virus Scan(s) on All of Your Email Accounts.
* Change Your Password and Security Questions.

The Password and Security Questions should be changed after All Virus Scans have been cleared and completed. After this, Hotmail/Windows Live believes you will no longer have these problems. I have this problem with my email account, my dad's and my partner's account. My dad has been using my Mum's laptop, and did the Anti Virus Scan(s) on there. I did the same for my account and my partner's account, but from my own laptop - we rarely send emails, let alone check them. If we would like to send an email, we do this from our iPhone(s), there are no settings on the email application to help with this - you must be on computer (to change passwords etc).

Hotmail/Windows Live Forum - My Thread on what I have done so far and what Hotmail/Windows Live has suggested!

If you continue to have these problems, the only suggestion I have is: change/create a new email address with a seperate company to Hotmail/Windows Live and then import your contacts (only) from your Hotmail/Windows Live Account.

Create a Free Email Account with:

Gmail        Yahoo        Aim        AOL        Mail
